Presidents August 2016 Message

The Presidents August 2016 Message reviews the July Meet and looks forward to future activities:

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE August 2016
Colonial Region

Well — Can you believe it is already the last official month of summer ?
Luckily we still have several months of good driving for our antiques. There is also plenty of hot weather ahead, so let’s enjoy more outings.
Don is trying to sell the “73 Dodge Dart Swinger. He really wants a Plymouth pick-up. The Dart has air conditioning if anyone is looking for a nice driver!

Our July picnic at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I. hit the perfect weather day.
Lots of other folks enjoyed it also. It is a very popular destination which
includes a nice picnic area with tables and a grill , gorgeous view, good parking, walking and bike trails , and swimming nearby. The Crooks secured a perfect location with 3 tables , shade, and restrooms close by. Reservations are necessary and very reasonable. Thanks to the Crooks for arranging that great location. Thanks also to Jim Dunlea, Qin and Doug Crook for manning the grills. Jim entertained the Palmer’s grandchildren with Frisbee. Most of us preferred to stay cool in the shade.

The Plymouth 400 celebration is coming fast. It has been suggested that
The Colonial Region host a National Meet or Tour in Plymouth, Mass. for
that celebration. It happens in 2019-2020. We really need to get planning
If the club can manage to pull that off. Please think about how you could
help or any ideas you have and let Bruce Nichols know. We need to make
some major decisions soon. Please read the minutes for other decisions.

The next meeting will be a mystery tour organized by Bruce Nichols. Bruce needs to know how many will be coming, so please call him by August 15th. Meet at the A & D Pizza & Pub on 60 Elm St. in Millbury around 11:30am August 21. Lunch will be off the menu.
