Sept 2023 Region Meet

The Sept 2023 Region Meet was held on yet another spectacular weather day on Sunday Oct 1 in Simsbury, Ct. after being postponed from the previous wet weekend.

While stunt planes & helicopters flew overhead the vintage vehicles came out in numbers to take advantage of a break in the rein of Sept. rains marching thru the Northeast.

The Colonial Region placed an anchor at a picnic table complete with tent & identifying sign for all to discover.

Although our cars were scattered over a wide area Steve & Karen had their 30 U close by:

There were plenty of younger generations present showing their interest. Visible from our picnic table was an extremely rare 69 Cuda model with rare 383 optional engine. I was hooked on the original mileage piled up on this rare auto especially considering how hard it is to steer these heavy weights:

Parked not far from the Cuda was a Roadrunner with air grabber that showed plenty of chips from it’s use which further met the criteria of a vehicle in use:

At the end of the field sat the large 69 Sport Fury convertible owned by Steve Thompson a longtime Plymouth Owner’s Club member. What a great day for a convertible:

Parked nearby at the end of the runway was the Palmer’s 35 Dodge Commercial Car Express Model complete with Chrysler Plymouth Service Vehicle markings. A bit shabby after hauling a couple of loads of mulch but better thanks to all the pre-day rains:

Getting to this meet was well worth the efforts of getting around some closed water logged roadways.

See the President’s Message for more on this meet.
