PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Well, unfortunately, we had to cancel the Colonial club’s August event because there were only 2 couples planning to attend , and the Palmer’s had COVID. It sounded like a fun day. Soooo, we have decided to add it to our October event. The plan is to meet at the Village Haven restaurant in Forestdale , RI at noon on Sunday October 15, eat together, then caravan to the Purgatory State Park Chasm. We could stop for ice cream on the way or go for desert after the Park. Weather will play a roll. We will ask for RSVP of those planning to attend the dinner since we need reservations. The Village Haven is actually in North Smithfield, RI ( Forestdale is an area in North Smithfield ,) 90 School St. , RI Contact; Judy Whitman for reservations. 413-738-5322 gvebigman@gmail.com by 12.th

The September event is on Sunday September 24th at the Simsbury Airport; 94 Wolcott Rd. in Simsbury, CT. This event sounds really neat , plenty to see and do and family friendly. The web site has more info Airplanes and Classic cars are on show and judged, there is also a Food Truck Festival , many demonstrations of helicopters , paragliding, drones, Lifestar , an EV airplane, seminars and rides available in a World War II training aircraft and helicopters. You will get a schedule and map at the entrance. Meet at 10:30am under the Civil Air Patrol tent near the broadcasting booth. The Palmers will be there. Grab a coffee. No meeting, just a hello to see who’s attending from the club. If you have a problem, or get lost, call Jane on her cell (860-840-4311). Don and I are hoping to go. Not in the old car though.

The Palmers and others are heading to the P15 tour to Niagara Falls in a week. It will be great to hear about it and see pictures.

Bob Cook is going to the Bruce Nichols Memorial Car Show in Millbury on the 15th of October. He is trying to finish up his restoration of Bruce’s ’32 Plymouth for that.

If anyone else is doing something special, let me know and I’ll pass it along. Judy

  1. Aloha Mr. Palmer,

This note is completely unrelated, but here goes. Do you or any of your members know anyone who owns a 1939 through 1946 Plymouth woody station wagon. Specifically, I am looking for a set or pieces for the vertical press on metal pieces that act as the frames for the rear quarter panel sliding windows on my 1940 P10 woody station wagon.

Any help would be greatly appreciated but only after the party with the parts agrees to talk to me.

Mahalo and Malama Pono (Take Care),

    Ewa Beach Hi.

    1. There are no members in the Colonial Region with the same model that you indicated but per chance there are any unlisted I can put a “Wanted” ad on the website. Please let me know if you want that done. I also suggest you contact the technical advisors for those years in the National Plymouth Owner’s Club who may know the members in the National Club with those type models. Also there is a National Plymouth Owner’s Club Membership master listing that you could scan to find all the members in the world with that model…..I would think getting that membership listing would be your best bet on tracking down such a owner of one of those Models.

      Don
