PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Summer has finally arrived and the club plans to take full advantage. We have actually planned a June 25th meeting and it sounds perfect. The Palmers have taken a scouting trip to the Worthington Pond and Winery in Somers, CT. It is located at 359 Mountain Rd. in Somers on a hill with gorgeous views, walking trails, lots of flowers, lawn games, many tables on the lawn and a relaxed atmosphere. AND NO CHARGE , unless you want drinks. No one is allowed to bring any beverage, even water. But, you can buy wine and other alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages or water. Bring your own lunch as they only serve cheese and cracker type snacks. This is a truly beautiful spot and we hope you can join us. MEET at noon at the winery. No reservation needed. UPDATE on Judi Nichols: her new address is 669 Washington St.. Apt 129 Auburn, MA 01501. 508-407-8011 She is very happy there and enjoying socializing.
As always , there are a plethora of car shows and cruises from now until October. Don Palmer has listed most of them on our web site for your choosing. We are considering options for July, possibly a luncheon inside , since July tends to be hot.
Boy, did you all miss a gorgeous day at the IOKA Valley farm on May 13th. The Hancock Fire Dept does a great job at their car show making sure everyone is happy and enjoying themselves. They give lots of prizes and the 50/50 is always impressive. But May does start the busy summer season and there are a multitude of activities going every weekend , just like every summer. We took our ’54 Plymouth Belvedere. It looks pretty and runs great but I hate standard shift. I won’t drive it either. Don is starting to look for an automatic transmission with all the linkage and parts for it . Even an old parts car would do. If you know of any, please let us know. We aren’t expecting to find one.
