PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE                                                                                     September 2017

Colonial Region

Thanks to Bruce Nichols for arranging to have William Ellis, the president of the Massachusetts Antique Auto Assoc. , as a speaker at the August club meeting hosted by Mike and Margaret O’Connor.  MAAC is a strong advocate for the old car hobby and acts on our behalf  when bills are presented to the state legislature. Mr. Ellis was scheduled to meet with Gov. Baker on the 23rd about a bill that would exempt antique cars 75yrs and older from annual state inspections.

MAAC is also advancing a bill to allow restored “year of manufacture” license plates .  Currently, only original plates are allowed and must be approved by the RMV.

Only 7 members attended this meeting, a disappointment , especially when there is a speaker. I realize some of us live a great distance apart and long days of travel are hard, so you could have a meeting in your area.  Surely there are some club members who could come.  Those of you who “chose” not to come ——  any suggestions ?   Is it because it was on a Sunday?  If you would rather attend a car show, we have just the thing !

The September Colonial meeting will be at the Lion’s Club Car Show on Sept. 17th.  Address is Windle Field in Millbury, Mass.   Meet at the CVS parking lot at 10:15am.  Car show is next door.  Enter together at 10:30

Questions?   Call Bruce Nichols.

And AGAIN-  The October meeting will be a fun day at the Waters Farm Day and Car Show on October 15th.  We are expecting good fall weather and a good number of antique cars.  There will be lots of activities and events all day.

Judy
